Web4Dev Collaborative Tools Session
From WikiScrambled
[edit]
Purpose and Process
The purpose of the session is for participants to have an understanding of how collaborative tools can be used to support their work. This can be achieved by:
- introduce the idea of collaborative tools (definition)
- demonstrate how collaborative tools have been used to support our work:
- describe what we wanted to do
- describe how the chosen collaborative tool made sense
- descibe the challenges and success of adopting and using the collaborative tool
- have participants think about whether and how their current work could be supported by collaborative tools
Time: We should speak maximum 20 min, and have the remainder of the session for discussion (as instructed by organisers).

Specifics and Session Flow
One of us... defines collaborative tools, but with the side comment that we hope to provide a clearer definition through examples of our own.

Depending on the size of the group,
- if large: have sub discusion groups (5-10 ppl) consider how their current work could be supported by collaborative tools, give them specific questions to consider:
- ...
- ...
- if small: participants sit in a circle and do the same as the sub discussion groups, but perhaps less structured given that there will be a facilitator
