Title; Support for Mekelle child centred forum study and Data base establishment program on children living under difficult circumstance

II Back Ground

Mekelle child centred forum was established in oct 2004 through the support and facilitation provided by Action Aid Ethiopia. Nineteen local NGOs are the founding members of the Network.

II Challenges

- Lack of adequate, reliable and accurate data from the concerned government agency concerning on children living under difficult circumstances CUDC) in Mekelle city.

- Duplication of resources and efforts.

III Expected outputs

- Availability of accurate reliable data on CUDC in Mekelle child centred forum.

- MCCF members will also greatly benefit from the finding of the study and the Database to be established.

- Researchers interested in child related areas could also take the study as springboard for further study.

- It will also benefit government offices to increase budgetary and other forms of support on CUDC.

IV Recommendation and suggestion

- Data base should include what other resources are available to them/ and what they are lacking

- Who are the other NGOs or support groups working in the area?

- Clearly state the Geographic area, population, and resource justification.

- promote collaboration within the Network.

- Activities should be Accessible in line with the money available and

- Think about working with others to create a database so that it can increase ownership and could help to keep database up to date

- might think of using a Database as information source reduce duplication?
